Celline, Designer of SANA handbag collection

Hello

Welcome. I'm the designer behind SANA, a collection shaped by curiosity, family, and a belief in quiet strength.

I wanted to make bags that felt personal. Thoughtfully made. Honest in material, human in process, and timeless in spirit. Every silhouette was drawn with real life in mind. Not runway moments, but everyday ones. The ones that shape us.

If you’re someone who cares about what you carry and why it matters, you’re in the right place. I hope you find a piece that feels like it sees you.

Why I Designed SANA

This brand didn’t start as a business idea. It began as something deeply personal. After my father passed away in 2022, I found myself thinking about legacy, family, and the kind of work that matters. That reflection turned into SANA. In Tagalog, it means both "hope" and "a wish." It felt right to build something that holds both meanings.

Each bag in the collection is connected to someone in my family. The names, the values behind them, the spirit they carry. I wanted the collection to honour them and remind me what this work is really about.

Sketches, Revisions, Real Life

I designed the first pieces in the margins of real life. On napkins, between meetings, late at night. There were over a dozen iterations before I landed on the first collection. I wanted the bags to feel refined without feeling distant. Something tactile, warm, and considered.

The debut collection includes four shapes and eight colors. Shades like Midnight Blue and Sea Kelp feel grounded and wearable. The Lime Zest interior adds something unexpected. It’s a quiet contrast that makes the bags feel like your own.

I oversee everything myself. Design, prototyping, sourcing, production, packaging, and branding. That means nothing goes out into the world unless it feels right. Small batches. No excess. No rushing.

Built by Hand with a Clear Intention

SANA bags are made with full-grain leather sourced from certified tanneries. The materials are important, but so are the hands that shape them. Skilled artisans hand-stitch each piece using traditional tools. Inside, you’ll find linings printed with Canadian skylines. A quiet nod to the place where this brand took root.

Over 75 percent of the makers behind the bags are women. This work helps them build independence and opportunity. That’s something I care deeply about.

Tech That Adds Meaning

Every bag includes a discreet NFC chip. It lets you verify authenticity, learn about the maker, and access tips and styling ideas. You can also register your bag to support resale down the line.

It’s not about bells and whistles. It’s about offering transparency and helping people connect more deeply to what they carry.

What Makes SANA Feel Different

Our lives are not one-note. We’re professionals, creatives, caretakers, and explorers. Sometimes all in the same week. I created SANA to move with you through all of it. These bags do not ask you to change your pace or your identity. They adapt.

Whether it’s the easy shape of the Mirella or the presence of the High Carry, each style is designed to be versatile without losing character. They are made to complement your life, not compete with it.

Looking Ahead

SANA will make its Market Week debut in Toronto this August. While that’s a big step, my focus remains the same. I care about thoughtful design, meaningful production, and creating pieces that grow with you over time.

Thanks for being here.
